Turkish Pickled Pears
This is gonna be short today, but make sure you use unripe pears. If not they get soft and then kinda mushy. And mushy in this case is not inviting.
Pickled Pear Recipe
2 unripe pears
1 1/2 c. apple cider vinegar
1/2 c. honey
2 cinnamon sticks
6 allspice berries
1 clove
1 pinch saffron
Dash Salt
Cut the pears into halves and then cut each half into thirds lengthwise.
Heat everything except for the pears. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat to simmer. Once it's barely simmering add the pears and simmer for 10 minutes.
Remove from the heat and place in a glass jar. Chill until cool. Enjoy with meat.
