Baharat

Baharat is a very popular spice mix in Lebanon. Sometimes refereed to as Lebanese 7 spice, the mix has a variety of ingredients with no one standardize set, and usually more than seven. Each home, restaurant, and spice vendor has his own unique blend, each a little different than the other.

This recipe makes a heaping 1/4 cup.

1 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. white pepper
1 Tbsp. allspice
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
pinch cloves
1 1/2 tsp. cumin
1 1/2 tsp. coriander
1 1/2 tsp.  ginger
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. fenugreek
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Combine all in an airtight container.
