Cevapi


Cevapi is called Bosnias unofficial national dish. The dleicious skinless sausage is simply spiced with garlic and parsley and delicious in a pita. Traditionally the sausages are grilled but an oven works in a pinch. Or a pan, pan fried is good too.

1 lb. ground lamb
1 lb. ground beef (80% fat)
4 cloves garlic, finely minced
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. parsley, chopped

Pita bread
Feta cheese
Chopped onions
Ajvar

Pre-heat your oven to 450.

Mix together the lamb, beef, garlic, salt, pepper, and parsley, max sure the meat is evenly combined. Place int he fridge and let sit for at least 2 hours. Shape the meat in to even rolls about 3 inches long and place on a baking tray with sides.  Brush with sunflower or olive oil and place the tray in the oven. 

Bake for 10 minutes. Turn the oven to broil and broil until slightly crisp. 

Serve on a pita with feta cheese, chopped onions, and ajvar.
