A kind of love cake sometimes, but really most of the time I think it's rather boring. I don't love it. Even really good cake is find of boring, and if they cake isn't really fantastic? Then it's a problem. Most of the time I find them bland, with nothing taste wise other than sugar. To make it interesting, in my opinion, you need to add exciting flavors, fun fillings, and interesting garnishes. So this cake pretty much rocks all of those criteria for me.
The cake is a moist date raisin cake, with a sour cream frosting, coconut flakes, and topped with a deep chocolate ganache. One of my favorite parts is the sour cream frosting, it's sweet and tangy, and goes with the torte perfectly.
