Halva
Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and everywhere in between that I have seen are gorgeous. The shuks however are probably my favorite parts. I love the open air stalls selling a variety of different treats and goods. But a particular favorite has to be the halva. It was described to me almost like fudge, but I found it more like a feather soft butterfinger in texture. Made from sesame seeds, with a variety of flavors, it's definitely a middle eastern icon.
